Out of New Balance‘s many classics, the 991 is certainly overlooked, rarely ever seeing the same reception as the 550, 992, and even the 993. Collaborations, however, are doing their part in bringing the shoe to the public eye, borrowing the talents of names like Stray Rats, PaperBoy Paris, and many others.
GRs are also gradually becoming more frequent, the latest being this “Triple White” colorway. Here, the Boston-based footwear brand’s usual greys are near entirely replaced. Suede, too, is removed in favor of leather, which arrives fully dressed in a bright white. Adjacent, the laces, midsole, and lining follow suit, while the “N” logo at the side, topmost eyelet, and tongue embroidery opt for a more familiar silver finish.

Elsewhere at NB, a CdG Homme New Balance 550 is coming later this year.
