The second half of 2022 will be quite a historic one for LeBron James and Nike. With the release of the LeBron 20 scheduled in a variety of colorways, Nike will surely pull out all the stops to celebrate this amazing milestone for LeBron, who just recently passed Karl Malone on the list of the NBA’s all-time scoring leaders. In addition to the LeBron 20 will be a series of retro product, part of which includes the first-ever re-issue of the Nike LeBron 2.
Several colorways are surely expected, but we can confirm that the LeBron 2 “USA” is currently scheduled to release in September 2022, barring any delays. This colorway of the LeBron 2 was famously worn by LeBron during the 2004 Olympics, although that backstory isn’t as auspicious as we’d like them to be. LeBron was part of a young, raw, and non-cohesive group of stars that not only ended the streak Team USA’s consecutive wins in Olympic play, but failed to capture the Gold Medal (they took home the Bronze).
The photos pictured here are of the original pair, and although Nike has stayed true to OG design for its LeBron Retro, there’s a chance that the cushioning and materials could be updated to better fit modern standards.
