Revitalized for its 20th anniversary last year, the Jordan Nu Retro 1 has propagated a low-top elegance amongst the Beaverton brand’s burgeoning lifestyle archives. An heir to the Y2K era, the latest Nu Retro 1 enacts a belated celebration for the Philippines Independence Day.
While the festivities took place last week, the silhouette’s chosen blue/red/yellow palette sparks up an instant connection with the country’s flag. Crisp white hues garner a dominant majority of the tumbled leather upper and embossed overlays for a layered blank canvas. Accented by a muted cobalt blue heel counter, the silhouette’s Filipino-inspired palette casts a burnished finish across the mudguard’s bright blue tint with complimentary red collar liners and forefoot stitching. Similar to a recently previewed Jordan Legacy 312, golden metallic hits introduce a regal theme across the various Jumpman logos whereas the tread underfoot concludes with a subdued icy blue treatment.

In other news from the Nike Inc. banner, the Nike Calm Slide is scheduled to release at the height of summer on July 14th.
