Holding over four decades of design experience, the Nike Air Force 1’s introduction of a layered aesthetic has been routinely released since the turn of the calendar in 2020. Holding countless color-blocking opportunities, the Air Force 1 Shadow now executes a missed summertime composition.
Whether manufacturing delays or production issues were at play, the silhouette’s titular colorway easily echoes the lively aesthetic of summertime a few months later. Crisp white tumbled leather builds out a dominant majority of the upper real estate, stretching additional colorless treatments across the oval laces, tongue construction and the sole unit underfoot. Streaks of Hot Pink then animate the echoed overlay of the quarter and profile swoosh while further anchoring the tongue tab and the enlarged “AIR” branding across the midsole. Light volt contrasts make an illuminated appearance within the trim of the vamp and heel while the mainstay swoosh and layered heel tab finish with a cooling baby blue effort.
