MSCHF is at it again for the third time.
The mischievous band of Brooklyn-based creatives will soon launch a BIG BLACK BOOT. Successor to February’s internet-breaking BIG RED BOOT and BIG RED BOOT (Yellow) collaboration with Crocs from August, the latest in the tall rubber trilogy delivers the tamest look yet. The ever-memeable design was initially previewed by Instagram personality Javel Berlin in July, leading spectators to believe the pair was simply another custom of the original. MSCHF, however, confirmed the BIG BLACK BOOT to several publications, promising an understated color scheme to the eye-catching silhouette.
The independent label has again worked with social media influencers to unveil the shoes, offering netizens a look at official packaging. The bulbous, Astro Boy-inspired design keeps the first pair’s DNA intact, deviating from Crocs’ interpretation of the silhouette. Interestingly, the MSCHF BIG BLACK BOOT arrives with a branded card that reads “Patent Pending.” Ever the disruptors, MSCHF dominated headlines both online and in real life, leading to countless counterfeit pairs of its BIG RED BOOT. It’s possible the Brooklyn-based studio is looking to protect its intellectual property moving forward.
MSCHF has confirmed a release date of October 26th, 2023 for $350 exclusively through the mschf.com and the MSCHF Sneakers App at 2pm EST.
