As adidas Running continues to modify its roster of marquee products for the elite level, the cohort keeps exploring new ways to leverage decades of innovation. Recently, the Three Stripes unveiled the latest breakthrough on this never-ending quest with the 4DFWD X Strung.
Built atop the 3D-printed lattice midsole that debuted in 2017, the adidas 4DFWD features Strung uppers. The sneaker’s top-half hasn’t had as much time on the market as the pair’s sole unit, but it’s been widely celebrated since arriving on the adidas Running line in 2022. Over the last half-year, the German sportswear giant has been experimenting with the “knit” upper, bringing its breathability and durability to special editions of its speed football boots. The cocoon-like upper contains the foot with every stride, delivering a fine-tuned, data-driven ride. Underfoot, the product – which features at least 20% recycled materials – couples tried-and-proven adidas 4D cushioning with Continental™ Rubber outsoles for a reliable, performance-first proposition.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead. A stateside adidas.com launch has yet to occur at the time of this writing, but the shoes are currently available at outposts overseas in an “Off White/Carbon/Wonder Silver” color scheme. The 4DFWD Strung retails for approximately $250 USD.
