As ASICS strengthens their foothold in the lifestyle space with models like the ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 and ASICS GT-2160, they’re also carving out territory on a more elevated side of things. London’s Kiko Kostadinov highlights plays a part in the futuristic design language that branches through ASICS’ catalog, but their plenty capable of displaying the same with in-line releases. Look no further than the upcoming ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 VIII “Digitune” pack for proof.
While the GEL-Quantum 360 silhouette expresses retro-futurism to a T, the colorways on offer in this “Digitune” collection attack that prompt from opposite directions. The pair in “Illuminate Yellow” embraces cybernetic shading, utilizing olive & green shades in heavy doses while animating the design further with purple and alarm red accents in the margins.
The other GEL-Quantum 360 style leans into the retro side, cladding its mesh composition in monochromatic tones of “Sheet Rock” planting a huge pop of color in the visible gel midsole and contrasting it greatly with midnight black counterparts towards the forefoot. Either pair offers a ton of techy appeal without sacrificing the comfort-minded performance synonymous with the Japanese label.
Stockists have the ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 VII “Digitune” pack tabbed for a June 22nd release overseas; stateside readers should expect a Fall debut for both pairs.
Elsewhere in the runners world, the Stone Island New Balance 574 Legacy lands on June 14th.
