With the proliferation of grey market sites and “market watcher” resale info accounts in their wake, sometimes the line gets blurred between being a sneakerhead and being a true trader. Though we’re unsure of the official narrative here, the Nike Air Force 1 Low at least winks at the concept with its latest “Fine Gold” colorway.
At first blush, the proud gold Swoosh & heel cup don’t stick out as being all that much out of the ordinary. After all, we’re still amid the Olympics full court press that’s planted similar colorways on mainstays like the Air Max 1. However, one look at the insole reveals the true narrative at play, utilizing the overall style & typeface stamped on genuine gold bars while hinting at the parallels between their releases and true fine metals.
To Beaverton’s credit, those touches aren’t the end of this colorway; a gold dubrae emphasizes the overarching concept while soft feathering on the black leather overlays help set this shoe apart from its inline siblings regardless of the story at play. A grind sole underneath that pins gold speckles on a black rubber base closes out the design, while likely tipping off Next Nature recycled construction for this pair as a whole.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Fine Gold” will drop as a part of Nike’s continuing Fall ’24 slate, retailing for $135. Keep an eye on the “Where To Buy” widget below as well as our Sneaker Release Dates landing page for direct links once this shoe materializes.
