Amid a heavy increase in golf content as part of its rise as the fastest growing sport in America, there’s been plenty of service to the long-time players. Whim Golf has taken a far different approach since their debut in 2019, aiming at those who lack experience entirely. Their Free Golf initiative brings pop-up mini golf experiences to major metro areas throughout the US with a future goal of converting the next generation to golf. Their first footwear collaboration celebrates that seminal experience, bringing blue skies to the Reebok Classic Leather.
In broad strokes (no pun intended), first-timers are the intended target with this shoe, but the imagery it’s supposed to conjure is a bit more granular. A golf ball soaring through the air is the guiding principle, reflected with the all-white foundation and the baby blue suede panels on the lower half. That shade is slightly tinted up for an icy blue midsole, accented well a translucent traction all the way underfoot. Of course, co-branded accents dot the profile, most prominent on the tongue tag but also reflected on the heel. The design closes out with an all-emereald insole, no doubt mirroring how the green looms large over every move by Whim GOolf.
The Whim Golf Reebok Classic Leather initially releases on whimgolf.com on July 25th, set for a wide launch via Reebok channels on July 26th. Regardless of when you aim to grab your pair, be ready for a $130 price tag. Get a better sense of what to expect via the campaign images ahead.
