It’s been relatively quiet for the newest member of the Nike SB family following its first few releases. After being initially unveiled at an Olympics-centric showcase in Paris, the Nike PS8 has only been seen in a “Black/Clear” adornment since, hitting shelves this past June. Now, the third edition is finally coming into clear view.

A blend of adjacent grey tones, “Cool Grey,” “Metallic Silver,” “Anthracite,” and “Wolf Grey,” is the choice here, with that chromatic hue on the Swoosh and underneath the laces perhaps the most striking. Though the overall combination makes for a complementary colorway, the differing hex codes are each applied on different materials, highlighting the mixed media construction of the model. Woven Flyknit at the quarter and forefoot emphasize breathability, while the lace stays, heel counter and mudguard, each clad in leather, underline the reinforcement added to “high friction” areas to hold up to repeated skatepark wears.

Taking actual skaters’ inputs and weaving them into the design of this shoe was a major point of emphasis in the PS8’s design, said to fittingly solve 8 problems encountered in other Nike SB designs. Additionally, the silo bears some sentimental value; Sandy Bodecker’s innovative spirit and his @problemsolver8 Instagram handle loom large over the model.

The Nike SB PS8 “Cool Grey/Metallic Silver” is expected to land this Fall/Winter season, retailing at $120. Enjoy official images included just below while we wait for the drop; keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates page for further updates.
