The San Antonio Spurs just achieved their third 60-win season of the Tim Duncan era, a feat matched over that span by only two other teams. The Los Angeles Lakers were an obvious choice, having won five NBA title during that timeframe, and the other is perhaps slightly surprising: Dirk Nowitzki’s Dallas Mavericks. But then again, if you follow the Association, you know that Mark Cuban’s Mavs have been a contender pretty much ever since he shook them out of their lottery-plagued funk, and drafting Dirk back in 1998 was a key turning point for the franchise. Dallas will soon begin its eleventh consecutive playoff berth and despite the 60-win mark being out of their reach, we can’t help but wonder if they’re a dark horse contender for that elusive championship ring. And no matter how deep their run, Dirk will be wearing a new pair of Nike Hyperdunk 2010 PEs. This latest model is even cleaner than the last HD2010 Home PEs, their subtle blocking resembling his unworn Germany player exclusive from last year’s FIBA World Championships.
