Sneaker News: We know the expectations that are laid ahead for you, being the #1 pick and all, but what’s going through your mind when you realize that you’ll be playing alongside Kobe, LeBron, and the rest of Team USA before even playing in an NBA pre-season game?

Anthony Davis: People say it a lot but it’s really a dream come true. I’m just trying to take it all in and learn from these guys who have won championships and had success in the league. It’s a great learning experience for me.

SN: So you’ve been wearing the new Nike Hyperdunks as a Team USA member. Does that mean you’re with Nike now?

AD: Yeah, actually signed a contract with them so i’m officially a Nike athlete.

SN: What plans do they have laid out for you? Maybe your own signature shoe?

AD: I’m just happy to be on the Nike team, you know. We talked about giving me my own shoe so that could happen down the line. We’ll have to see.

SN: So since you don’t have a sig shoe yet, what’s your favorite sneakers to wear?

AD: Definitely Foamposites, and I wear a lot of Air Jordan Retros.
