Where Nike has every other brand beat is in the Retro category. While NMDs and Currys are outselling Nike’s newer offerings, when it comes to the old-school game, Nike’s dominance is clear. Without any sort of marketing push, shoes like the Air More Uptempo can appear in stores and sell out just as quickly as the hyped Ultra Boosts or the Fire Currys, and those who grew up in the 90s still have a ton of disposable income for whatever else Nike is dropping next (the Spiridons and Talarias are a great example). As you already know, the OG Black/White colorway has already released in stores as did the white/red colorway, but soon to come is the clean white/gum version and in the unforgettable “Olympics” pair that Scottie wore during the 1996 Games in Atlanta. Stay tuned for the release of the latter two and let us know if you feel the Air More Uptempo is the best Retro sneaker of 2016.
