Nike’s annual Air Max Day celebration has led to a re-issue of an acclaimed Air Max shoe of the past. Marking this year’s “retro” is the Air Max 93 in the original “Dusty Cactus” colorway from 1993, a shoe that had not released since 2014. This model, designed by none other than Tinker Hatfield, debuted the first-ever Air Max unit that wrapped around the heel and was also referred to as the Air Max 270 for its three-quarter coverage of Air. Of course that name has been applied to the brand new lifestyle sneaker that we recently examined in several colorways. Nike confirms that this release will be scheduled leading up to the official Air Max Day celebration in March.
