Scottie Pippen is arguably one of the most under-appreciated players in the history of the NBA as he was always playing second fiddle to Michael Jordan during the Bull’s six championship runs. However, that was not the case during Game 2 of the 1993 NBA Finals, when number 33 tallied a Triple Double (15 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists) to help propel Chicago to a 2-0 series lead against the Suns. Dubbed the “Trifecta”, this Nike Air Maestro II pays homage to that historic achievement, as Scottie became just the 12th player in the history of the game to notch a Trip-Dub in the Finals. Not only was Pippen making plays on the offensive end, he also managed to block a potential game-tying three at the end of the game – helping lead the Bulls to their third straight Championship.
Releasing as part of the upcoming “Art Of A Champion” collection, it is accompanied by a gold-clad Larry O’Brien Trophy hang tag, and comes with all the details of the original. Pairs of this honorary Air Maestro II will arrive at Nike retailers on May 10th. Stay tuned for updates and check out the rest of the “Art Of A Champion” Pack in the meantime.
