Wheat sneaker season is officially in full swing. After Nike dropped a full pack of wheat sneakers with everything from the Air Max 95 to the Air Force 1 Low getting the fall-ready treatment, another shoe is now set to join the ranks: the old school Air Darwin. A throwback basketball shoe that was originally brought to market in 1994 and worn by the legendary Dennis Rodman, the Darwin features a flipped swoosh design and an already-chunky construction that lends itself well to a boot-style makeover. A rich wheat nubuck adorns the upper, while a black midsole, eyelets, and Swoosh provide accents. The shoe’s normal laces are swapped out for a two-tone construction boot lace, and a dark gum outsole with an aggressive traction pattern completes the hybrid sneaker/boot look. The Air Darwin is available now at Swoosh Brand stockists like Finish Line, and retails for $130 USD.
