Ever since introducing Flyknit oh so many years ago, the Beaverton brand has gone through testing after testing to introduce the ever-innovative Flyprint. Inspired by the feedback received from Eliud Kipchoge after the runner narrowly missed the sub-two hour mark set by the BREAKING2 initiative, Nike designers set out to improve on the Vaporfly with the brand new 3D-printed textile upper, the first of its kind in the performance genre. Bringing the silhouette down to a feather-light 11 grams, the piece of technology boasts almost zero water retention while retaining the elements that made the original so popular. The intricate woven fabrication creates a textural element along the entire profile with an enlarged swoosh and aggressive midsole staying true to the overall design. Initially released at an exclusive runners event in Chicago as well as at a London launch in a different colorway, the Vaporfly Elite Flyprint will surely be seeing a wider release very soon. Stay tuned to Nike SNKRS for updates.
