Marquee matchups on Christmas Day have been an NBA staple for years now, and this year’s big showdown should be one for the ages. The NBA’s two biggest stars (not to mention Nike’s) will go head to head for the first time this season on Friday, and besides the obvious basketball rivalry, there will be another key face-off taking place on the Staples Center floor. The battle of the kicks will officially be underway at 5pm Eastern time as LeBron breaks out his special Christmas Air Max LeBron VII’s and Kobe debuts the Chaos edition of the Zoom Kobe V for the first time in an NBA game. Regardless of who comes out victorious, we’re the real winners because both pairs will be hitting retail the following day. The Christmas LeBron VII and Chaos Kobe V will be available at Niketown and House of Hoops, with the LeBron shoe also dropping at a few other select Nike retailers. Check out the Christmas game on Friday to see who’s kicks are looking fresher, and if you’ve got any cash left over after this year’s holiday shopping, you can cop yours on Saturday, December 26th.
