Known for its ultra-vibrant hues, ’90s Nike apparel stands in a class of its own, and now its still-brilliant aesthetic is seemingly serving as inspiration for a new take on the ever-popular Air Max 1. Although the Tinker Hatfield-designed silhouette first released in 1987, this new makeup is all ’90s, featuring a windbreaker-style black nylon base and bold leather overlays dressed in purple, gold and teal. The crimson midfoot Swoosh sits on top of gold trim for a double-layered design, and a “Sportswear” tag appears on the lateral quarter, accompanying the colorful tongue tag and alternate-style hangtag. Thin rope laces nod to the drawstrings found on various pieces of clothing, and a light grey midsole, crimson Air Max cushioning unit, and three-tone outsole finalize the heritage-filled look. Bask in the loud colors via a full set of official images directly below, and expect a release on Nike.com/select NSW stockists soon, complete with a retail price of $130 USD.
Update: Available at Nikestore, Finishline and JD Sports US.
