While full release details are still unknown about Nike’s “Sashiko Pack”, the included SB Dunk Low is slated for a European-exclusive launch on August 1st.
The collection – which also includes the Kyrie S2 Hybrid and SB Blazer Mid – is inspired by an intricate Japanese embroidery technique dating back to the early 1600s. “Sashiko” or “little stabs” appear prominently along the skateboarding silhouette’s two-tone “Mystic Navy” denim upper; unlike adjacent pairs, the SB Dunk features incomplete side Swooshes done in white contrast stitching. Branding on the tongue and heel, just as laces and underlays visible through toe box perforations, further indulge in the colorless hue, with “NIKE SB” text on the tongue label being complemented by zig-zag needlework. Underfoot, modified sole units forgo any “Sashiko” details in favor of their standard construction. Their color schemes, however, allow the upper’s premium composition to take center-stage, while simultaneously delivering fan-favorite “Gum Light Brown” tread.
The SB Dunk Low “Sashiko” is currently scheduled to arrive at select European stockists on August 1st. Other silhouettes in the collection may follow suit, but for now, enjoy images of the low-top model ahead.
