adidas’ A-ZX series has been paying tribute to their extensive ZX line through thoughtful collaborations with big names such as Sean Wotherspoon as well as revivals and remixes of older icons. By kicking off the program with the rerelease of the ZX 1000 C, the Three Stripes effectively brought the late ’80s model back to the limelight; the silhouette’s new inline colorways, like this recently unveiled grey and blue arrangement, are also partly responsible.
Soft grey mesh uppers and suede overlays create the base, contrasted by the much bolder royal blues and blacks used for the stripes, tongue label, and heel. An unexpected touch of neon is seen on the EVA-branded lace dubrae, which uses a yellow-green shade. Staying true to the archive design, the pair sees a familiar ZX Torsion Bar in the middle of the sole and an EVA cushioned midsole—both notable footwear innovations that continue to deliver old school charm and align with recent chunky-runner trends.
You can grab a pair now at hanon-shop.com for $115 USD. An adidas.com release should follow shortly.
