It’s sad to hear about our favorite sports stars from the past reporting a bankruptcy and a sudden lack of cash in the bank, but these days, these highly-paid athletes have become incredibly shrewd with their paychecks thanks to proper advisement from some of the most successful businessman in the world. LeBron James, one of the highest-earning pro-athletes in 2011, bought in a minority stake of Liverpool FC after striking a deal with Boston-based Fenway Sports Group, and is projected to earn quite a profit from this investment over the course of the next several years.
What do sneakerheads get out of it? A special edition colorway of the LeBron shoe donning the Liverpool FC kit colors of red and turquoise blue and the liver bird logo on the heel badge. With Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and even Kevin Garnett now owning stakes in European football clubs, will this be an ongoing trend for max-contract pro athletes investing their money on other pro athletes? I don't know why Nike didn't just use the real liver bird. It's not a copywritten symbol, the griffin looks stupid. In November 2008, Liverpool Football Club attempted to register the version of the Liver bird shown on the club badge as a trademark to stop false club merchandise. The deputy council leader, Flo Clucas, said. "The Liver bird belongs to all the people of Liverpool and not one company or organisation".[4]
Could be cool to see a Red Sox colorway as well since the Company that owns Liverpool is sister companies with the Company that owns the Sox.

Terrible. Not a single LFC supporter I know would go anywhere near these. the thing on the heel sure isnt a Liverbird, there isnt any turquoise green in any of our kits, and as for those trophies on the sole we certainly havent won 18 of them.. sorry but these shoes are horrendous, badly researched and executed, not worthy of an association with LFC. Who was LeBron getting his advice from here? Will, Liverpool

Hiya, I believe they are meant to represent the 18 times LFC has won the English league.. thing is the trophy on the sole is actually the English Premier League (EPL) which came into being in 1993 and which sadly LFC has yet to win. We're hoping Fenway and LeBron's involvement might be the precursor to a new age of success - theres already a turnaround - but this shoe's an aberration! Sad thing is, there will be a lot of LFC fans who are into their basketball and who would buy a well thought out shoe. YNWA
I like the looks of these. Not a big soccer fan but I do like the lebron lows so I'll grab these for sure.

As a Liverpool fan these are an automatic pick-up. I also love LBJ 9's, major fan of the mids, lows not so much, but am I ever happy about this pair. I hope a Liverpool release becomes tradition! Those outsoles are some of the best ever.
Should be green not turquoise, apart from that probably the best looking sneaker related to a football club I've seen.

These are pretty fresh. Said I wouldn't buy anymore lows after picking the Easters but I would definitely pick these up. Praying I can let the 9 be a thing of the past after the Elite Mint and Elite Taxi. Nine pairs of one model is over indulgent right? So ready to move on to the 10!
Maybe it's just me but Nike could have added a bit more detailing. Like the Barca-edition Kobe VI.
They probably couldn't since Liverpool is still with Adidas for the rest of the season, then Warrior Sports after.

nice shoe but really sad because a) most Liverpool fans will be saying LeBron who??? b) being an Arsenal fan, i'd never put that liver Bird on my feet.
What are you going on about? Lebron is a world famous athlete. It was a big deal when he came to anfield this year.
