While the chatter surrounding the potential departure of a signature athlete from Jordan Brand has settled a bit, we’re getting some interesting news regarding the opposite effect – the addition of a brand new athlete to the Jordan Brand roster. That player is a fellow ‘Michael’ in Charlotte Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist; the second overall selection of 2012 NBA Draft enters a young and raw Bobcats roster and will certainly get the minutes to prove his potential stardom in the league, but it’s apparent that team owner and Jumpman pioneer Michael Jordan already sees the potential of MKG as he enters his first season representing an icon on his feet. Is this the beginning of a ‘youth’ movement for Jordan Brand, and does Kidd-Gilchrist have the chops to own a signature shoe? Let us know what you think of this latest footwear brand business-move and we’ll keep you updated with official announcements from Jordan Brand.
