Nike Basketball is back with another out of this world set of sneakers for their 2013 NBA All-Star collection. Included are each of the pillars of the big three in basketball sneaks: the Nike LeBron X, the Nike KD V, and the Nike Kobe 8. The pairs aim at an extraterrestrial theme inspired by the Houston location and its mission control center, sort of keeping things in the same galactic space as last year’s massively buzzed about All-Star collection. Continue reading for full shots of the Nike LeBron X ‘All-Star’, the Nike KD V ‘All-Star’, and the Nike Kobe 8 ‘All-Star’, all of which will release on February 15th, and drop us your thoughts on the collection in the comments below.

Houston, here we come with an extraterrestrial take on basketball celebrating the excellence of the sport’s midseason weekend.
The mission control center in Texas, widely know by its radio call sign “Houston,” provides the creative inspiration for a special collection of shoes for Nike Basketball’s fearless leaders LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant.
Space exploration defies practical reality. To launch into space on a mission to reveal the unknown can be mind-boggling. Extraterrestrial species, undiscovered planets, new constellations – there is no limit on the potential for discovery. These unlimited barriers also apply to Nike Basketball’s design philosophy – no limits, no restrictions, rooted in exploration and discovery.
What began as a simple idea by members of the Nike Basketball design team has manifested itself into a creative celebration and fictional interpretation for the game’s top players during basketball’s prized weekend. Our heroes appear in a distant universe, where players are not just stars… They come to life as fictional planets on each of the three following shoes.
An indestructible force originating from fictional Nike Space Program (NSP) planet NSP-LJ6, LeBron James’ dominance was born from the volcanic surface in the planet’s mantle. He is rumored to have journeyed to earth on a meteor made of the galaxy’s hardest substance – black diamonds.
Technical benefits of the LEBRON X include full-length visible Nike Zoom cushioning, dynamic Flywire technology and Hyperfuse construction – a trilogy set to unleash its fury in Houston.
KOBE 8 SYSTEM
Engineered to the specifications of Kobe Bryant’s Houston mission, with origins rooted on a planet marked as NSP-KB24. The Ice Mamba circles the volatile surface as guardian of the five rings. The wise veteran is known to strike with moves that leave his opponents frozen.
Built for Bryant’s lightning speed and precision, the KOBE 8 SYSTEM is Nike+ Basketball enabled for the first time and this shoe also features Nike Zoom in the midsole insert. Nike Engineered Mesh upper and tactile traction complete the shoe.
Identified as Dark Matter, the biological and molecular breakdown of this figure remains a puzzle for scientists. Early readings of its origin, NSP-KD35, have sent back conflicting reports of a planet that is simultaneously solid, liquid, and gas – properties that make his game adaptable to any situation.
Joining with Bryant for their quest to lead the West to victory, this KD V is designed to the specifications of Kevin Durant’s Houston mission. The KD V features the combination of Nike Zoom (forefoot) and Nike Air (heel) cushioning along with Hyperfuse upper and dynamic heel support.
Houston, Here We Come
Driven by the creative vision of Nike Basketball’s color lead Eugene Rogers and graphic extraordinaire Erick Goto, the 2013 collection specially built for Houston pushes the limits with meaningful, in-depth storylines.
The team dove into Houston’s space lineage to create a fictitious basketball universe led by Nike’s elite three players – it was an intricate, creative and fun project intended to celebrate the game’s best.
The space concept also comes to life through select Nike Basketball apparel including the Hyper Elite Galaxy shorts and collection of three t-shirts for James, Bryant and Durant.
Nike Basketball has also joined forces with Nike Sportswear to create a special product collection based around Area 72, a top-secret facility where shoes take on a life of their own. Stay tuned for the launch of the Nike NSW collection celebrating Houston tomorrow, January 23, on NikeInc.com.
The Nike Basketball shoes specially engineered for Houston – KOBE 8 SYSTEM, KD V and LEBRON X – will be available beginning February 15 at select retail stores and at Nike.com.
Thank You Nike.... I know the beasts will be all over these & the Black & royal 1's... I wonder how many people are gonna be pissed they spend all they money on these & have to pass on the Cork X release the following weekend on the 23rd...
WTF why no GITD on any of these ASG shoes???? The NSW collection gets GITD soles but this doesn't just weak compared to last year! I wanted those KD V's but I dunno now!
The X's are decent, the KD's are pretty plain, and the Kobe's are the best to me. They don't measure up to last year's release though.
All of them look horrible maybe except for the KD's but they should have made the base white or black not whatever that color is
I expected the lebrons and the Kobe's to be ugly but I'm especially dissappointed in the kd's. Nike trippin on this one.
I like em all, last years models were much better but I'd love to cop all 3... But wait wait wait, royal ones the 16th & the 88' Cement 3's are a must.... So where do these fit?!? Hummm idk but I just might have to squeeze in somehow
Garbage, the Kobe's look like a cheese pizza. You youngins will buy anything with a little hype around it these days. All 3 of these or booty
I like all of them. Don't care what nobody say the Lebron's are the best ones, then the kobe's, but thats just because they stand out more. I think the KD's are keeping it short and simple. They'll stand out but nor because of crazy ass swirls in the paint and little random dots. But thats just me. The weakest cw of the three is still on point.
it''s funny how NIKE has these 3 allstar shoes already set! its like they stuff the ballots of the allstars selection. what if lebron, kobe or durant didnt make it to the game, would these have been created? its just funny that they just know these 3 will be in the game.
Pass on all of them. I expexted more from Nike Ill prolly get 3 more Lebron The Home cw The Florifian Home cw and the Setting/Dolphins until the PS versions. there other sneakers like the Kamikazes the various jordans n penny I can spend my bread on
KDs & Kobes. Lebrons jus don't look all together. Its missin sumthin... gottagrab those KD's. Might have to get those kobes too... have a feelin da prices on these will b da same as da BHM kicks
@FoamFanatic But your a Foam Fanatic lmao
@heat_meiser I agree. Last years release looks better IMHO.
@Sneeky How? This set boasts more intricate designs and intergalactic motifs than last year's did..these SHIT on last year's pack. Y'all are tripping..but it's cool with me as long as I get the Lebron. The only one I don't like is the KD..last year's KD shits on this year's.
@dopeman978 thats why they waited for the all star line up to be announced before announcing these duhh
@TheTeflonDon21 Most likely yes. Nike Sportswear will release the collection tomorrow.
