The latest Air Jordan 1 Mid GS release is one of the more decidedly feminine efforts on record. These new girls AJ1s use a healthy dose of Dynamic Pink alongside white and Metallic Platinum to prove the old ‘pink and shrink’ adage still makes for strong new styles. Puma hasn’t abandoned The List as evidenced by the delicious Dim Sum Project, but some of that premium capsule’s luster has transferred to another luxury collection. Everything labeled Machts Mit Qualitat has lived up to the billing, including these fall 2013 drops. The Air Jordan 1 will go convertible on us this summer via this lowkey colorway. The shoe is a mixture of grey, black, white, and true blue across the upper. Interestingly enough the whole “true blue” selection is one that seems to be a pretty big part of the July 2013 offerings from Jordan Brand, which registers as sort of a strange selection since the only real retro tie-in that we know of so far is that elephant laden Air Jordan 1 Mid. The Nike Air Force 1 is a sneaker that’s proven to hold up pretty well over time. For example: since they predate the whole visible Air era you don’t really have to worry about the exploding soles happening. This vintage pair, a Nike Air Force 1 High apparently released in 1983, proves their sturdiness (Look ma, no yellowing!). Perhaps one of the most painstaking releases in Nike history was the Nike Air Yeezy 2 in 2012. Some may postulate that Nike’s Twitter RSVP system was created just to counter the seemingly limitless crowds that would undoubtedly show at storefronts, and although independently owned shops did not employ their own “Twitter RSVP”, Nike did encourage each store to use a raffle-style release in order to minimize the camp-out craze. Two colorways of the Air Yeezy 2 came and went, and considering the original Air Yeezy released in three versions, many believed that a third Air Yeezy 2 colorway was in the works – especially with that curious “Kobe” colorway in purple/red/volt still swimming around the net and Gentry Humphrey himself coolly mentioned that “things are still in the works”. With that said, the excitement around the Air Yeezy 2 has never waned, but recent events have propelled this discussion topic back to the surface. If 2012 was the year for the Air Jordan IV to get all its OG colorways out of the system, 2013 follows it up as the year that Jordan Brand takes some serious liberties with the silhouette in terms of blocking. One of them that you can expect to release this year is the Air Jordan IV “Stealth Oreo”, this clean black/grey/white combination that sports some speckling across its lower half. Jordan Brand’s full plans for July 2013 are being laid out in front of us. One of the first things that sticks out about the group is the abundance of “true blue” utilizing styles, despite the Air Jordan III of the same name being, obviously, nowhere to be found.
