Is Kobe Bryant the closest thing to Michael Jordan we’ll ever see? Numerous NBA Titles, a ferocious competitive streak, potentially the greatest scorer (in volume) of all-time – Kobe’s list of accomplishments is certainly ‘up there’ and Jordan himself has called Kobe the best player of this generation. After Kobe’s tenure with adidas came to an end, Nike quickly picked him up with a nice contract and expectations were high – until some controversy marred Kobe’s life during that period. Although it took some time for Kobe to rock the Swoosh, Nike hit him up with some of the greatest Air Jordan Player Exclusives we’ve ever seen, as he wore them throughout the 2003-2004 NBA Season. One such banger was the Air Jordan VIII, colored up in purple and gold to match the iconic Lakers Home jersey. This piece here is not only brand spankin’ new, but signed by the Black Mamba himself, so check out the gallery as well as some in-game shots of Kobe rockin’ these eights below and check out the entire listing from elbato22 on eBay.

The Second Round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs is mid-way through and we’ve already seen an impressive library of sneakers from the games biggest stars and even the lesser-known sneakerhead ballers. The two names to highlight this weekend are both from Los Angeles – Kobe Bryant and young swingman Nick Young of the Clippers; Kobe shed ‘Elite’ by wearing a White/Purple/Green PE of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII, which he followed with the Nike Zoom Kobe VII ‘Christmas’, but Nick might’ve done him one better by wearing the Air Foamposite One ‘Royal’ during Sunday’s match-up against the Spurs, which followed an unprecedented appearance of the Nike Air Zoom Generation in the ‘First Game’ colorway. Of course, there’s much more to see, like Eric Bledsoe’s Metallic Red Foams, LeBron’s Black/Gold Elites, and Paul George’s sick Fade Option Kobe VII iD, so check it all out below and let us know who rocked the best kicks! NBA Feet: Kobe Bryant – Nike Zoom Kobe VII Supreme Playoff PE

It was a tough going for Laker Nation yesterday evening as the OKC Thunder came out firing on all cylinders, closing out Game 1 by a margin of 29 points. Kobe will need to channel the seventh step of the KobeSystem to move the Lakers onto the Western Conference Finals, so let’s hope he continues bringing out the sick PEs, like his Yellow/Black Kobe VII Supreme (reminiscent of the Kobe VI ‘Lightbulb’) last night; just a few hints of red and you’ve got a legit take on the Bruce Lees (that seriously need to come back, doesn’t it?). More of Kobe and his Game 1 PEs after the jump (as well as some close-up shots) so take a look and let us know what you think. Photos: espn

nba feet 5 14 12 NBA Feet: Weekend Recap 5/11 5/13

Just a small handful of games went down over the weekend, but what the NBA lacked in number, it overcompensated with heated competition and some new sneaks! The Los Angeles Clippers finally put away the tough Memphis Grizzlies as Chris Paul and his CP3.V led the Clippers to victory. Teammate Nick Young wore the best kicks though, wearing the Air Foamposite One ‘Metallic Red’ to match the Away uni. On the other side, Rudy Gay of the Memphis Grizzles brought back the Air Max Tempo in White/Navy. The other LA squad advanced to the second round as well, led by Kobe Bryant who wore the ‘Lakers’ colorway of the Zoom Kobe VII ‘Dart Frog’. The East was already on the Semi-Finals round of play, as LeBron wore the LeBron 9 ‘MVP’ and teammate Dwyane Wade chipped in with the Fly Wade 2 EV. Paul George, who has been Kobe VII-friendly this season, broke out the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Elite ‘Away’. The final game of the weekend was between Philly and Boston, led by Rajon Rondo’s Zoom Huarache 2K4 iD. More of the NBA below, so take a look and stay tuned for more!  Photos: espn

Nike Zoom Kobe VII ‘What The Kobe’

May 11th, 2012 by | 35 comments

nike zoom kobe vii what the kobe Nike Zoom Kobe VII What The Kobe

If you read our Nike Air Max ‘What The Max’ post carefully, you would’ve caught our hint at another ‘What The’ model of this unique pack. Well, here it is – the Nike Zoom Kobe VII; as you’ve witnessed thus far, the Kobe VII has demonstrated its unique capability of going HAM with colorways and patterns as we’ve seen quite a variety with the Christmas/Leopard, the Poison Dart Frogs, the Galaxy, and the Invisibility Cloaks, and this dope ‘What The Kobe’ follows the true ‘What The’ formula laid out by the SB Dunk by using those patterns all around the shoe. Just to start things off, you can see the Leopard upper on the left shoe and the Dart Frog no the right. These are featured on one of the covers of Sneaker Freaker 24 (if you’ve been keeping up with our previews as of late, the SF Issue 24 is looking like a must-have), so check out the full shot of the cover below and let us know what you think of this ‘What The’ attempt. NBA Feet: Around The 2012 Playoffs – 5/9 – 5/10

nba feet 5 11 12 NBA Feet: Around The 2012 Playoffs 5/9 5/10

The First Round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs is nearing its end, with two match-ups waiting for a decisive Game 7 to be determined. Kobe and the Lakers failed to close out their showdown with the Nuggets thanks to Ty Lawson’s career game (balling in the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Cool Grey’). The other LA team is still stuck in First Round limbo, as the Grizzlies staved off elimination with a key Game 5 victory. But six of the eight Second Round teams have already been established – one of them being the Miami Heat, who finally extinguished the battered Knicks in Game 5. To round out the headlines from the last two nights: The Sixers ‘upset’ the Rose-less Bulls, Tracy McGrady still hasn’t seen the Second Round, and Blake Griffin’s Hyperdunk Elites go under the microscope. Check out the highlights of the NBA from the last two nights and stay tuned for more 2012 NBA Playoffs coverage. Photos: espn

In an unprecedented footwear decision, Kobe Bryant reverted back to the non-Elite Kobe VII for Game 2 of the Lakers/Nuggets series, wearing a ‘Supreme’ PE colorway of purple and white. Turns out you can build your own Game 2 PE on Nike iD, and Kobe might be better off breaking ‘em out again because he had his best game of the entire Series wearing these Supremes (dropped 38 on an above-50% clip). Will Kobe Bryant and the Lakers seal the deal against the Nuggets in Game 6? Check out the additional angles below and let us know what you think.

nba feet 5 7 12 NBA Feet: Weekend Recap 5/4 5/6

The NBA Playoffs continued over the past weekend, as we got a look a select number of new sneakers as the teams shifted ‘Home’ and ‘Away’. Starting off, Kobe Bryant wore a PE Black/Yellow colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Elite (not far off from the Gold), as he led the Lakers to a 3-1 lead over the Nuggets. The Lakers’ local counterparts also featured some new sneakers, like CP3′s ‘Home’ colorway of the Playoffs joints and Eric Bledsoe’s LeBron 9 ‘Christmas’. Out East, Carmelo pulled out NY’s first Playoff win in years in a White/Orange/Grey PE of the Jordan Melo M8, while Rajon Rondo led the Celtics to a 3-1 advantage over the Hawks while wearing the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 in a White/Green PE (Rondo once mentioned that the 2k4 was the most comfortable basketball shoe he ever wore). More of NBA Feet below, so take a look and stay tuned for more updates! Photos: espn
