With the All-Star version of the Nike LeBron 9 nearly upon us, fans of Mr. James should be set when it comes to high energy colorways. Fortunately, just a few weeks later we’ll also be treated to something a bit more neutral: the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Swingman’ that goes for a Neptune set of tones on the cool blue upper. Of course the other big draw is the Griffey tie-in, with the logo hit on the back paying homage to Junior’s Swingman insignia. Hit the jump for some better shots of this upcoming colorway and let us know in the comments if you’ll be picking up the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Swingman’ on their March 2nd release date. via Dunk

The Nike LeBron series has had an exclusive group of High Schools and Colleges that were provided with special edition Player Editions of LeBron signature sneakers. While some PE colorways did release to the public, like the ‘Christ The King’ and ‘Akron’ colorways of the Air Max LeBron VII, some live up to the billing of “Player Exclusive”, like the ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ versions for Fairfax High School. Fairfax will debut these PEs tonight for their Playoff run. Now that we’ve seen both the ‘Home’ and the ‘Away’ (aptly nicknamed the ‘Ironman’ by our clever readers), which of the two do you like better? Let us know in the comments section below. via nikevault

The Nike LeBron 9 ‘All-Star’ colorway has no doubt stolen the show for the time being as far as bright makeups for this signature sneaker, but where the smoke clears from the crazy month of releases that is February 2012, there will still be a little bit leftover. Namely the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Bright Mango’ hitting on March 2nd, a model whose namesake tone isn’t too far from the orange of the All-Star edition, albeit applied in a much more minimal manner. The majority of the mango hits come on the bottom half of the sneaker, with the midsole speckle, the checkered set up on the carbon fiber plate, and the outsole all getting the tropical shade. Hit the jump for some more shots of the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Bright Mango’ and let us know if they’ll be your first pickup for March.

As the high school basketball schedule approaches its postseason, we’re starting to see the nation’s top teams’ Nike Basketball player exclusives, including this third of a trio of new Nike LeBron 9 colorways. This LeBron 9 for St.Vincent-St.Mary is the other side of the coin compared to the ‘home’ edition we showed you this morning, switching up the colorblocking pattern by rotating the green, gold and white sections for a darker look that escapes the traditional black look for road teams. Click through so you can see these right up against the ‘SVSM’ LeBron 9 for home games, and let us know which one turned out better this year. via Stickie213

As promised, Sneaker News continues our examination of the Nike LeBron 9′s high school player exclusive designs with a school that doesn’t have any direct connection with the King, other than symbolizing the absolute pinnacle of prep school roundball. The LeBron 9 ‘Fairfax’ comes through with a rival look to foil the recently examined Zoom Kobe VII Westchester Comets PEs, and even though there’s only one of these compared to two Comets colorways, Fairfax High School already got the better hand in their 2012 ‘Battle for LA’ by winning both of their head-to-head matchups this season. Click through to see more of the winning look, and check out the sample pair offered by afujino on eBay.

Linsanity has overwhelmed the NBA and pro-sports newsreel as the Asian sensation continues to prove that his six-game streak is no fluke. On Valentine’s Day, Jeremy Lin blew a kiss of death to Raptors fans with a game-winning three-pointer to finish off the game while wearing the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Low (with rumors of a ‘Linsanity’ PE swirling around). Amare Stoudemire and his Nike Air Max Sweep Thru was welcomed back into the line-up as he contributed a very Amare-like stat-line of 21 and 9. LeBron James rocked a Red/Black PE of the Nike LeBron 9 as the Heat finally turned the table on the Bucks, while the Wizards’ Jordan Crawford switched up his rotation by wearing the Nike Huarache Free Bball 2012 in the Black/Royal colorway. Of course, we’ve got a lot more for you below, like Al Harrington’s LeBron 9 iD, Amir Johnson’s White/Red Kobe VII, and Nate Robinson’s Air Jordan X, so check out some of the best NBA kicks from the previous two nights and let us know who rocked the best kicks! via Yahoo!

Get ready, Sneaker News readers! Over the course of the day we’ve got a trio of new Nike LeBron 9 high school player exclusives to share with you, starting with the one most strongly connected with the man himself as well as his signature series. The LeBron 9 ‘SVSM’ comes in a bold home-court construction whose white framing is contrasted by deep forest green insets and just a hint of gold to keep the Irish theme going. It’s not like you wouldn’t know who these were for, anyway, as a huge tongue emblem displaces LeBron’s signature that surpasses the released versions of the Miami, Kentucky and Ohio State PEs. The St. Vincent-St. Mary edition clearly has what it takes to compete against the D-1′s big boys, but what about the nation’s other top prep squads? Stick with Sneaker News to see if these make it to retail, and check out the sample pair offered by afujino on eBay in the meantime.

Anyone care to argue that the Nike LeBron 9 doesn’t have the most energetic colorways the basketball sneaker industry has to offer as of this moment? Didn’t think so. LeBron James’ ninth Nike Baksetball signature has blown the doors off its competitors with a huge array of high-contrast and otherwise eye-catching colorups, this latest drop sure to leave adult men in tears when they find that these are limited to smaller sizes. The LeBron 9 GS goes for a deceptively simple mix of mostly grey and black, but despite how that reads on paper, the key to this design is the purple and neon accents that have these an orange hit or two away from a blacklit ‘Dia de los Muertos’ kind of appeal. Check them out up-close after the jump and look for yours at select retailers like Eastbay.

Nike iD teased us last week with a tantalizing clue regarding an upcoming limited-edition customizable option for the Nike LeBron 9 iD, which was later revealed to be a Foamposite-like material on the upper weave panel. How sick is it? LeBron 9 designer Jason Petrie couldn’t stop toying around with the new option over the weekend, showing us some of his inspired iD creations. Here we have a look at actual samples of the upcoming LeBron 9 iD in the new embossed material, and it’s clear that the new three-dimensional add-on gives the LeBron 9 a new level of style that gives the sneaker some new life; these ‘Dunkman’, ‘Cavs HWC’, and ‘Penny’ samples should be enough to lure you in so don’t miss out when this new option goes live on Nike iD tomorrow!
