This weekend, two colorways of the Air Jordan 1 Low Phat will be released and to kick off this new variation, Jordan has applied their infamous elephant print and colors from the Air Jordan III. This new “Phat” model pays homage to Air Jordan’s past as an impromptu skate shoe. In the 80’s, before there were the big name skate shoe companies, many skated in the Air Jordan 1 as there were few alternatives available. All the pieces of the Air Jordan 1 are in place and little has changed, silhouette wise, but additional padding has been added to the innards and to the tongue. This is similar to what was done to the Nike Dunk as it was slowly converted into the Nike SB version. A white/cement Air Jordan 1 Low Phat colorway will also release on September 27th, 2008. Both colorways will only be available at select Jordan retailers but of course we found them on eBay early.
