Every basketball fan and his momma wants to see one thing; LeBron vs. Kobe in the NBA Finals. It’s been a long while since the NBA saw a Magic vs. Bird scenario on the game’s biggest stage – largely due to more team-oriented gameplay – but for LeBron James and Kobe Bryant to not face off against each other in the Finals would be an utter travesty to the game of basketball.
So why all the clamor about a regular season game in January, or the hoopla about the Christmas Day Kobe vs. LeBron? When the season ends, with both the Lakers and Cavs finishing among the elite in their respective conferences, the MVP voting will boil down to these two games. It’s no question that both Kobe and LeBron will get their stats, but with the Cavs sweeping the season series again Lakers, the MVP advantage goes to Mr. James. But all that really matters in the end is the championship ring; it’s LeBron’s to win and Kobe’s to lose.
