Rarely will you come across a pair of the Air Jordan VI Original in September Blue and with the Air Jordan VI Retro of 2010 come and gone, it doesn’t look like we’ll receive a pair anytime soon. One Jordan fanatic took matters into his own hands by transforming a pair of the Air Jordan VI White/Varsity Red into the close replica of the OG September Blue joints, and the results proved that this low-risk/high-reward experiment paid dividends in the end. Gonzo4of9 of UTA Forums did a simple tape job and painted over the Varsity Red midsole with a shade of blue that is comparable to the original September blue (is it a coincidence that he did this in…September?) and also painted over the strip on the heel ‘spoiler’ but left the Jumpman on the bottom sole alone – the paint wouldn’t last one wear anyway. Overall, job well done. We’ve seen conversions of Varsity Red to Infrared as well, but which do you think is better? Continue reading for a detailed look at this custom and let us know what you think of the results.
