On January 17th, 2011, American citizens around the nation spend this extraordinary Monday reflecting on the profound effect that one man had on American society, culture, and way of life. Martin Luther King Jr. is considered to be not only one of the most important African Americans to have lived, but perhaps one of the influential men to have called America his home. Today, twenty-six NBA teams will be in action, using their feet as podiums to pay tribute to Dr. King in the only way they can – by wearing one of many styles included in the Nike/Jordan/Converse Martin Luther King Day Jr. 2011 Basketball Collection. THE BLACK HISTORY MONTH ON COURT CELEBRATION
On January 17, 2011, Nike, Inc. basketball athletes from 26 teams playing 13 games will wear key Nike, Converse, and Jordan Brand basketball performance shoes fashioned in black and gold on the court in honor of the holiday.
