Over ten models of the Nike LeBron, is there a true clear-cut “number one”? Air Max fans absolutely love the VII and the new full-length Vis-Zoom on the LeBron X might take the cake, but the Foamposite-based Zoom LeBron IV probably has a lot of votes as well. Aaron Cooper’s design of the IV was an instant hit, and among the timid GR colorways that hit stores a series of special editions were created on the side. The Dunkmans, NYC Remix joints, the SVSM PE’s – those are all bangers, but the undisputed visual shocker of the LeBron IV catalog is the December 2006 creation of the ‘Fruity Pebbles’.
Nike Basketball created a super-limited run of the Nike Zoom LeBron IV ‘Fruity Pebbles’ just for LeBron James and his friends and family (thus the ‘Family Style’ embroidery on the heel pull-tabs). It features a clean white upper with a rainbow of colorways on the bottom end, with translucent outsole rubber traction matching the graphics of the Fruity Pebbles cereal (LeBron’s personal favorite) on the midsole. LeBron actually wore these in a game on December 1st, 2006 against the Atlanta Hawks for a throwback Hardwood Classics jersey night, and later Upper Deck teamed up with Nike again to release a figurine with the Fruity Pebbles and throwback Cavs uniforms. More of this super-rare pair of Fruity Pebbles LeBron IVs below, so take a look at tonight’s Classics Revisited below and let us know if these are your favorite!
