Today marks Jackie Robinson Day – a momentous day in which Major League Baseball honors the accomplishments of Jackie Robinson with league-wide celebrations and the #42 seen on the back of every player’s uniform. This special colorway of the Nike Air Swingman MVP Cleat is inspired by Jackie Robinson’s past in the Army, with the “Come Out Fighting” mantra reflecting that of his tank battalion in World War II. Built off the same upper as the Nike Air Griffey Max 360 (which also released in this colorway), the Nike Air Swingman MVP “Jackie Robinson” Cleat has a military-inspired theme, with Army-style patches embroidered on the tongue, camouflage on the insole, and Jackie’s “42” debossed onto the heel. These are available now at select Nike Baseball retailers like Dicks and will be worn by select players today, so check out the gallery below.
