A Detailed Look at the Nike KD 7 “Easy Money”

The KD 7 started out by riffing off the popular “Weatherman” theme that Nike Basketball first introduced on the Nike Zoom KD IV. Rather than simply port over that colorway onto this latest of Nike KD models though, they have now expanded the theme across five different shoes with completely different colorways. The culmination of that set will come this September in the Nike KD 7 “Easy Money”. So what exactly does this shoe have to do with the weather? The Nike KD 7 “Easy Money” runs deep on the double meanings and connections.

The “Easy Money” nickname is one of Durant’s himself, and is in turn utilized to create a currency-inspired shoe that’s got everything from the money green look to the curving lines that you’d find on real deal US dollars. The shoes are also tied into the $100 bill and Ben Franklin, which is where the weather theme comes into play here with the tale of Franklin flying a kite with a string attached and striking lightning.
