Ewing Athletics Brings Back Patrick Ewing’s 1992 Signature Sneaker

Ewing Athletics continues to bring back more all-but-forgotten silhouettes belonging to Patrick Ewing. The latest retro release will comprise of the Ewing Concept, a shoe that Pat wore during the 1992 NBA season. Featuring a unique midfoot strap that wraps around to the heel in almost a safety belt like construction, the Concept fits right in with other shoes from the early 90s that aimed to transform the strap into something original (we’re looking at you, Air Jordan 8 and Nike Air Raid). This towering sky top was made for post players, and unique details like the ankle support that’s almost Kamikaze in origin to the original ‘3’ lacing system at the very top of the model, forming a ’33’ for each sneaker to match Ewing’s jersey number, all leave a lasting impression. Two colorways will kick things off – an obvious Knicks PE reference that Ewing actually laced up, and a simplistic black and white. Stay tuned for a release date in the coming days and catch more photos below.
