2015: A ZX Odyssey. Boston’s own Bodega has teamed up with adidas Originals for a unique take on one of the three stripe’s most recent successes in the adidas ZX Flux. The predominantly black upper takes its cues from the ominous shade of Kubrick’s monolith seen throughout the cinematic classic 2001: A Space Odyssey. The colorway also takes cues from the movie’s intensely specific art direction, as the black upper doubles as a nod to floating in space while warm shades of red, yellow, and orange attempt to capture the hues seen in the original movie posters. The upper is constructed of a woven nylon while reflective 3M hits the toebox for added depth. The yellow and orange lining also intend to nod at the unique shades found on the movie’s spacesuits. The Bodega x adidas ZX Flux will arrive at Bodega, Boston on July 18th for $120 and will open up to a number of Consortium retailers on July 25th. More official photos below.
