Back in 2007, Nike Sportswear released the Nike Air Huarache “ACG Pack”, an homage to the crossover appeal of another Tinker Hatfield gem, the Nike ACG Air Mowabb. The trio of Nike Huarache pairs utilized premium constructions and colorways found on the original 1992 run of the Mowabb. While we never expected to get a true and through retro of those colorways, if there was any time to do it, it would’ve been last year when the Mowabb finally saw a retro release.
There’s still hope though, and today we get a look at two upcoming Nike Huarache colorways that look an awful lot like they were inspired by the interesting and eclectic Nike ACG aesthetic. A Gold Leaf and Hyper Cobalt combination ditch any hints of tan, but those accents were originally found on the Nike Mowabb. Throw in a perforated toebox and an aggressively speckled grey midsole, and this look reminds us of the All Conditions Grear imprint and then some.
There’s also a Pure Platinum and Pink Blast combination that’s a bit more subtle than the previous selection. Shades of a vibrant yellow contrast on the heel cage while dashes of different greys create a tonal effect throughout. While this might not be the Nike Huarache “ACG Pack” from 2007, it’s great to see that NSW is still tinkering with new ways to make the Nike Air Huarache retro an exciting offering for Fall 2016.
