Chelsea Ends Partnership With adidas, Signs Contract With Nike For Over $1 Billion

Chelsea Nike Contract 15 Year Deal

Chelsea has announced a new 15-year £900 million sponsorship with Nike to start during the 2017-2018 season, thus ending their current deal with adidas. This will be the largest kit partnership in the history of English football clubs, as the sponsorship will come in at roughly £60 million per season (still behind the yearly total of Manchester United’s 10-year £75 million contract with adidas).

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia had this to say about the new partnership between the Blues and the Swoosh: “This is an incredibly exciting and important deal for the club. Like Chelsea, Nike is known around the world for its excellence and innovation and we look forward to working together in what is sure to be a successful partnership. We believe Nike will be able to support our growth into new markets as well as helping us maintain our place among the world’s elite football clubs.”

Trevor Edwards, President of Nike Brand also chimed in: “Chelsea is a world-class club with a rich tradition and passionate fans across the globe. The partnership with Chelsea reinforces our leadership position in football. We are excited to help grow the club’s global reach, serving players and supporters with Nike innovation and design.”
