Nike Confirms Release Info For M2K Tekno

Nike’s M2K Tekno silhouette is one of the weekend’s most anticipated releases as it is the top player in the industry’s take on the most on-trend aesthetic – dad shoes. Paying homage to the Monarch by adding elements of its DNA and modernizing its chunky look, this new version is narrower while still ushering in a thicker-than average tongue.

“There is no question that Monarch defines the look of the early 2000s, and after 16 years it has emerged as one the most iconic lines of that era,” designer Jin Hong said. “The goal in designing the M2K Techno was to maintain the Monarch’s authentically bold stance while creating fresh features, thus revising what the Monarch could be for 2018.”

Upon its debut as part of John Elliott’s New York runway show, it has garnered attention from sneakerheads around the globe. While the shoe was initially designed for women, it is clear to Hong and the rest of the design team that men are also interested in the silhouette. Both colorways will debut tomorrow in Europe, but then will arrive at retailers on May 5th in women’s sizes, finally being followed by a July 1st drop in all sizes.
