adidas Y-3 Unveils The Chunky And Futuristic Kaiwa

Y-3, the collaborative brainchild of masterful Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto and adidas, has become known the world over for their unique proportions and striking aesthetic. With the recent rollout of their Fall 2018 line came several new sneaker silhouettes, and one of those is the head-turning Kaiwa. Presented in Yamamoto’s signature black and white color palate, the shoe features a black leather and neoprene upper with an extended white tongue that boasts bold debossed Y-3 branding. A black suede tab on the midsole adds another logo patch, and the ninja-like upper sits on top of a chunky white midsole that provides a striking contrast to the sleek upper. The new Kaiwa is available for pre-order from Barneys now with an expected delivery date of October when Y-3’s fall collection releases in full.
