After ten seasons, NBA basketball returned to the city of Seattle – even if for one night only. The Key Arena hosted a pre-season game between the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors, and before tip-off Kevin Durant addressed the Emerald City crowd while wearing a Shawn Kemp jersey above his Warriors garb. During the game, he wore a special KD 11 PE issued to him by Nike Basketball, but before the game he rocked a pair of Nike Cortez “Seattle Supersonics” created by Nike designer Ben Kirschner – a Seattle native himself. A green/white colorway lays the foundation for these unique PEs, but there are several Supersonics details such as the team logo on the insole, tongue labels that note the franchise’s founding year, and KD 35 on the heels. Check out the closer shots ahead.
