Girls Don’t Cry Reveals Their Nike SB Dunk Low To Be A Japan Exclusive

Japanese graphic designer/illustrator Verdy is set up for a bountiful 2019. With his Girls Don’t Cry brand beginning to enjoy mainstream recognition and his extensive slate of collaborations with everyone from Rare Panther to Good Company, Verdy’s name is currently one of the most buzzed-about in the world of street culture. Now, he’s set to turn the heat up another notch this month with the release of his new “Girls Don’t Cry” Nike SB Dunk Low.

First premiered at 2018’s Hypefest, Verdy’s red and white Dunks draw from the same design ethos as most of his clothes: simple color palettes and appealing — but not overblown — logos. Accents appear via small branded hits dispersed around the upper, as the GDC text logo appears on the lateral heel, a large butterfly graces the tongue patch, cut-out hearts appear on the medial quarter, and a small heart is printed on the laces. There’s also a friends and family version pictured below that’s reportedly limited to only 100 pairs, and offers an inverse look via a white/tan base with red accents. Stateside SB fans will be disappointed to know that Verdy’s Dunks are a Japan-exclusive release, but if you’re lucky enough to be in the designer’s hometown of Osaka, you’ll be able to secure a pair February 9th.
