Kevin Durant’s in for a lot of “new” this Summer as rumors of him departing Golden State for a new and possibly final chapter of his NBA career. Before all that happens (or doesn’t happen), the two-time Finals MVP will usher in yet another new signature shoe with Nike called the KD 12; it’s radically different from the Flyknit-based models that have been the focal point of his shoes since the ninth model as a new softer, deconstructed upper takes its place. The shoe is pretty much a full reset from the current line on a design and functional standpoint, and there’s a lot more practical innovation involved that serves KD’s needs that we’ll get into once the model is officially unveiled. The overall aesthetic has also completely transformed as the KD12 sports a 5/8th cut with some informational cues on the medial side, and there are certainly some high-energy colorways in the works as the Playoffs approach. Peep the first look here and stay tuned for updates on the Nike KD 12.
