Many modern-day sneakerheads may recognize the adidas Ozweego line through its multitude of Raf Simons collaborations, but the Three Stripes is bringing the classic series of runners in a new direction during 2019, and the adidas Consortium “X-Model” pack is set to aid in those efforts. The silhouette represents ’90s Trefoil Brand footwear design via details like its noticeable midsole line, but adds plenty of modern-day embellishments for a compelling fusion of new and old. The upper’s white mesh/neoprene base is accented with both black and grey suede overlays, but the most interesting details arrive via the midfoot’s colorful stripes and the neon green tubing, a piece that nods to the Ozweego 3 by carrying the line’s DNA in its veins as it snakes around the throat, midfoot, and heel. Printed orange detailing appears on the rear, and the adiPRENE midsole calls upon ever-so-soft sail tones for a gentle contrast with the upper’s base. A black and orange outsole completes the look. These Ozweegos will release alongside a similarly-styled adidas LXCON on May 18th for $120 USD, so check a retailer list below to see where you can get a pair.
