Where To Buy The Nike Air Max 1 “Sketch To Shelf”

Tinker Hatfield‘s status as Nike’s most well-known footwear designer is well-established, and now the Swoosh Brand is probing the inspiration behind one of his most famous creations for the new Air Max 1 “Sketch To Shelf.” Featuring a hand-scrawled take on the classic “University Red” colorway that launched the AM1 — the first-ever shoe to feature visible Air cushioning — back in 1987, these “‘Sketch To Shelf” makeups offer a simple white mesh base, but then call upon scrawled marker-style strokes to provide color. Their overlays, branded hits, and even the tongue get in on the action, providing bold punches of red and tan. Tinker’s design notes are then spread around the upper in black ink, and the right shoe’s heel swaps out its regular branding in favor of his signature and date of completion for the design. Down below, the white midsole features black dots around its heel Air Max unit, and the translucent blue outsole is underlaid with even more wild detailing. These ultra-unique Maxes are set to debut in the US on July 13th and then hit European retailers on July 20th, so check out a comprehensive store list below to see where you can secure a pair.
