After a heavy dosage of color, Vans is starting to show off their once coveted skate edge with a GOODHOOD collaboration thrusting them further into dark aesthetics and Halloween-esque motifs. Paired atop the Vault upgraded Era, Sk8-Mid, and Slip-On, the range all share similar aesthetics though varied ever-so-slightly to their tooling. The laced up low-top arrives comprised of textural toe boxes and heel wraps while the profile base bears an all-over webbed print as laces emblazon with “LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHAOS” across their entire face. This execution follows on the mid-top though dressed up almost entirely in black; the retailer’s branded type logo scatters in perpetuity across the lateral while the medial features the same design as the aforementioned. The more convenient Slip-On is somewhat more sparing in its design than the rest as graphics arrive much more minimally don due to the lesser amounts of canvas, though typography hits on the foxing surely make up for any lack of lace lockup.
