The Nike Air Ghost Racer Gets A Wild “Recrafted” Makeover

The Nike Air Ghost Racer Gets A Wild “Recrafted” Makeover

A budget-conscious lightweight runner when it first debuted in 1998, Nike’s Air Ghost Racer has been enjoying a second moment on the market this year after Nike Sportswear brought it back as a lifestyle silhouette. Now, it’s appeared in a decidedly non-traditional “Recrafted” style, complete with bold branding and plenty of extra details. Things start out in innocuous enough fashion, thanks to a base layer that mixes white mesh/leather and a volt green “Reconstructed tag”. However, the look then gets ramped up almost immediately. Blue leather and yellow suede Swooshes are stacked on the midfoot, and a duo of dashing prints — camo and cheetah — appear on the tongue and midsole, respectively. The midfoot overlay is made of a translucent plastic and features a super-sized Zoom Air hit printed directly below it, while both shoes are completed by triple-stacked, oval-shaped red/green/blue Swoosh badges on the heel that slide between reptile-print leather and shaggy suede. Get a first look below, and stay tuned to our Sneaker Release Dates page for info on a day of arrival as it’s made available.
