With Chinese New Year fast approaching so, too, are the homage creations, and while we’ve seen quite a few from adjacent brands, it seems Nike may have many beat as yet another inspired colorway leaks — this one also on the coveted Air Max 1 silhouette. And though they share the same base, the end result is still quite distinct, favoring a palette much more complex than the regal and mythical influence of the pair revealed previously. Dressed up in pink mudguards, traditional markings, Chinese lettering, and much more, the silhouette comes to life in a theme centered around “Longevity,” pushing good fortunate by way of tones symbolic of prosperity: e.g. red, blue, and yellow. Floral motifs, ornate etchings along the heel wrap, and dragon patterns embellish throughout, going from panel to panel in varying levels of contrast — some subtly painted in and others presented in full color — while hidden stamps and geometric patterns print along the outsole and insole, respectively. Grab a detailed look at these AM1s right here and expect the rumored 7000 pair release to go down sometime in January 2020.
