Following its most recent appearances that saw through to wild cheetah graphics, and jellied outsoles, the adidas Superstar is piling on its 50th anniversary library with a new option that possibly nods to what have been the Tokyo Olympics this Summer. From a bird’s eye view, these my seem like an ordinary neutral-toned makeover, but up-close you’ll notice that the trim along the stripes alternates between a red, black, and blue, while splashes of green wrap around the heel, and yellows land on the tongue to mimic that colors of the iconic Olympics rings logo. adidas’ standard “Footwear White” tone wraps the base layers and outsoles, while the heel counter contrasts in “Core Black”; giving way for the aforementioned accents to be the highlighting feature of the shoe. If you’re interested in scooping up a pair, they are available now in select retailers overseas, but be on the the lookout for them to hit adidas.com in the coming weeks.
For other adidas-related news, the Blue Oat 380s have been postponed to July.
