The Nike Air Force 1‘s GORE-TEX-backed arrangements have become fan-favorites for fall and winter, but the silhouette has also indulged in different materials to combat the elements. Case in point: the model’s “Shell” edition, which features a water-repellent upper and Sherpa fabric sockliners.
Inspired by season outwear, the winterized take on Bruce Kilgore’s 1982 design boasts textile and synthetic shroud over its standard baae. Robust stitching, toggle-fasteners and pull tabs on the tongue deliver the same functionality found on winter outwear to this predominantly “Platinum Violet” option for women. “Hyper Crimson” accents throughout the Air Force 1-variant proffer high-vis flair for both aesthetic and practical purposes, while the aforementioned greyish tone takes over much of the lining and pair’s top-half. Underfoot, sole units don’t drastically deviate from the proposition’s overall color scheme, but revel in a semi-translucent tan finish that infuses more personality to the water-repellent sneaker.
